Embedded Software Engineer II

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft, including hardware interface layers
• Implement software requirements derived from system-level specifications, ensuring traceability throughout the software development lifecycle
• Develop and execute software unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test procedures to verify software functionality and performance
• Collaborate closely with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define software interfaces and resolve cross-discipline technical issues
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software and hardware/software integration issues in a lab and test environment, Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
• Proficiency in C++programming in resource-constrained embedded environments
• Experience withPythondevelopment for tooling, test automation, or scripting in an engineering environment, * Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other safety-critical aerospace systems
• Familiarity with software verification for mission and safety critical standards (DO178, NPR 7150.2, SMC-S-012)
• Experience withDevOps practicesincluding CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing frameworks, and configuration management tools such as Git, Jenkins, or equivalent
