Job description

We are seeking a Level 1 Service Desk Technician to join our dynamic IT team. This role serves as a key point of contact for internal technical support and will work closely with users across the organization to ensure smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills and a passion for technology., * Deliver frontline technical support to on-site and remote end users via desk-side visits, phone, email, text, and remote support tools.

  • Install, configure, and maintain employee technology, including desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, and mobile devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Support audio/visual equipment in conference rooms to ensure smooth meeting experiences.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and escalate issues appropriate to higher-tier support teams when necessary.
  • Provide hands-on assistance (“remote hands”) for server and network equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Accurately log and document incidents, requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
  • Maintain assigned on-site coverage hours and participate in on-call rotations as scheduled.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support IT operations and service delivery.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in a technical support or help desk role, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • High School Diploma - Required
  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field - Preferred
  • Hands-on experience with PC and laptop setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance (Windows and/or macOS)
  • Experience supporting common office technologies, including printers, monitors, phones, and mobile devices.
  • Exposure to basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPN setup).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently or as part of a team
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and remote support tools
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Support PC and laptop hardware and software
  • Strong problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional ability to research to find resolutions to technical problems

Certificates and Licenses:

  • CompTIA A+ - Preferred
  • HDI-DST - Preferred
