As a Test Engineer at Lam, you’ll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You’ll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. Your strategic planning of labor, schedules, and equipment ensures effective testing operations. Join us in shaping the future of precision and reliability at Lam. What you’ll do

The Pilot test engineer develops and deploys manufacturing process documentation, creates and updates visual instructions in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in accordance with engineering specifications, and develops and implements revised testing strategies to optimize cycle time and labor hours. Develops and deploys hardware and software through scripting language to allow for the automated testing and characterization of complex electro mechanical assemblies. Designs and deploys test fixtures to enable testing and characterization. Provides direct on-site support to the manufacturing floor in troubleshooting and resolving production issues. Participates in the design review process of new products with design engineering team to influence design for test strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience., * Proven track record of problem solving and critical thinking skills in resolving electro-mechanical issues
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics, 2D/3D models, technical data sheets
  • Driven, highly organized, strong attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills and strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience with the design and implementation of electro-mechanical test fixtures
  • Understanding of software/firmware applications, communications
