Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Scrum Master with a strong technical background to join our dynamic Agile team. The ideal candidate will be a servant-leader, coach, and facilitator who not only guides the team in Scrum practices but also possesses a deep understanding of technical concepts and development processes. This role is crucial in ensuring our development teams are efficient, productive, and equipped to deliver high-quality products. Will support up to 3 Agile teams. Responsibilities: Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, time-boxed, and effective. Remove Impediments: Identify, track, and actively remove impediments that hinder the development team’s progress, leveraging technical knowledge to understand and address complex technical blockers. Coach and Mentor: Coach team members in self-management, cross-functionality, and adherence to Scrum values, principles, and practices. Provide guidance and mentorship on Agile methodologies and technical best practices. Foster Collaboration: Promote a collaborative environment within the Scrum team and between the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders. Act as a liaison to facilitate effective communication. Technical Understanding: Utilize a strong technical background to understand the development workflow, technical challenges faced by the team, and the product being built. This enables more informed facilitation and support for technical discussions. Promote Continuous Improvement: Guide the team in adopting and refining Agile and Scrum practices to continuously improve their processes, productivity, and product quality. Protect the Team: Shield the development team from external distractions and unnecessary interference, allowing them to focus on delivering value. Support Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner with effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management techniques, ensuring clarity and conciseness in backlog items. Drive Technical Excellence: Support the team in creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done and encourage the adoption of relevant technical practices (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing) where appropriate. Organizational Adoption: Help the broader organization understand and adopt Scrum and Agile principles through training, coaching, and advising.
