Job description

Parsons is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in support of specialized military cyber operations. You’ll be a critical member of a small team, responsible for automation and observability of custom data pipelines, software initiatives, and developer experience on a critical national security mission. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Drive automation initiatives, observability improvements, and incident response operations: Automate routine tasks, enhance system monitoring, and respond quickly to incidents to ensure system reliability.
  • Direct interaction and support for CNO Capabilities developers and their development experience: Work closely with developers to streamline their workflows and resolve technical issues.
  • Design and implement automation solutions for infrastructure and application management: Create automated processes for deploying and managing infrastructure and applications.
  • Drive modernization efforts by engineering and implementing infrastructure improvements, automation capabilities, and technology refresh initiatives: Upgrade and modernize systems and processes to improve efficiency and adopt new technologies .

  • Develop and maintain monitoring and observability platforms: Build and manage tools that track system health and performance.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management solutions: Use code and automation tools to manage and configure infrastructure consistently
  • Optimize system performance and reliability: Identify and resolve performance issues to keep systems running smoothly.
  • Collaborate with software development, operations, and security teams: Work with other teams to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient solutions.
  • Support cloud and hybrid-cloud environments: Manage and optimize systems across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of software engineering, DevOps, or operations experience
  • Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • DoD 8140/8570 Compliant.
  • Strong Linux administration experience.
  • Experience with scripting and automation for Virtualization platforms.

What Desired Qualifications You’ll Bring:

  • Ex perience with Hybrid Cloud Environments.
  • Pro ficiency in a higher-level programming language. (Python, Golang, etc.)
  • Vir tualization of Embedded Systems
  • ETL pipelines to automate RE/VR, data analysis, or data discovery
  • Exp ertise with containerization and OCI. (Docker, Podman , Incus)
  • Cert ified/trained in one or more of the following: RHCSA, RHEV, BCI Training, USCC CCD Developer (Senior)
  • Un derstanding of offensive cyberspace operations workflows

Salary Range: $125,100.00 - $225,200.00
