Job description
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software for sophisticated drone platforms. Working closely with hardware, electronics, and systems engineers, you’ll help build reliable real-time software that enables safe and efficient flight operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on highly technical products in a fast-paced R&D environment where you’ll see your work directly influence innovative airborne systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded software for drone platforms and onboard systems.
- Develop new features in C and Modern C++.
- Work on embedded Linux and real-time embedded environments.
- Develop software for communication interfaces and peripheral devices.
- Collaborate closely with electronics, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
- Debug, test, and optimise software for performance, reliability, and safety.
- Participate in software architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Support integration, validation, and field testing of embedded systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong commercial experience developing embedded software.
- Excellent knowledge of C and C++.
- Experience working with Embedded Linux.
- Experience developing within RTOS environments.
- Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
- Experience debugging embedded hardware/software systems.
- Knowledge of Git and modern software development practices.
- Fluent French is essential, with a good level of English.
Nice to Have:
- Experience within aerospace, drones, robotics, autonomous systems, or defence.
- Knowledge of ARM-based microcontrollers or embedded processors.
- Linux kernel or device driver development experience.
- Exposure to wireless communication technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD or automated testing for embedded software.
