SQL Developer

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional SQL Developer position.

You’ll become the go-to specialist for reporting, business intelligence, database development and systems integration, working closely with stakeholders across multiple departments to improve processes, automate manual tasks and unlock valuable business insights.

You’ll have the autonomy to recommend improvements, develop innovative solutions and help shape the future of the company’s data landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and develop engaging Power BI dashboards and business reports
• Write, optimise and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures and database objects
• Build automated reporting solutions that reduce manual administration
• Develop and support integrations between business systems and third-party applications
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into practical solutions
• Improve data quality, governance and accessibility across the business
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and technology
• Support continuous improvement projects and system enhancements
• Troubleshoot reporting and data issues while ensuring high levels of system performance, * API integrations
• ETL processes
• Data warehousing
• ERP or CRM systems (including NetSuite or SugarCRM)
• Business systems integrations
• Fast-paced commercial environments

You’ll be someone who enjoys understanding how businesses operate and loves using data to solve problems.

You’ll ideally have:

• At least 3 years’ commercial SQL development experience
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server knowledge
• Experience creating complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures
• Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards and datasets
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
