Artificial Intelligence Interaction Design Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Large Language Models Figma

Job description

AI products fail on trust far more often than they fail on model quality. Your job is to make ours trustworthy, legible and genuinely pleasant to use - for people whose day job is energy, not prompting.

You’re the only designer in the pod, which means you’ll move between research, interaction design, UI craft and design system work in the same week. You’ll design for uncertainty: what happens when the model is confident and wrong, when it’s slow, when it needs to hand over to a human. What you’ll do

  • Run lightweight research with internal users and customers, and turn it into design direction the pod can act on
  • Design end-to-end flows for AI-assisted workflows - conversational, agentic, and embedded in existing tools
  • Solve the hard AI interaction problems: showing confidence and provenance, designing graceful failure, making human review and correction feel natural
  • Build and maintain a lean design system that an engineer can implement without a translation layer
  • Prototype fast, test with real users, iterate faster
  • Contribute to prompt and response design - tone, structure and formatting are design decisions here

Requirements

  • 5-8 years in UX/UI design with a portfolio of shipped digital products
  • Direct experience designing AI, ML or data-heavy interfaces - you can talk about what you got wrong as well as what worked
  • Genuine range across research, interaction design and visual craft; strong Figma skills
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with incomplete requirements and short cycles
  • Ability to work in the browser: enough HTML/CSS literacy to spec and QA properly
  • Confidence presenting and justifying design decisions to non-designers, including executives

Nice to have

  • Complex operational, B2B or enterprise tooling
  • Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2)
  • Exposure to LLM behaviour - prompting, fine-tuning outputs, or evaluating model responses for tone and usability
