Job description

The business is continuing to invest in its technology and digital products, with a mix of new web application development, system improvements, and ongoing platform evolution. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, wants to keep learning, and likes being close to the work. Why this role matters

This role will play a hands-on part in building and improving web-based applications that support a large-scale digital customer experience.

There is a good balance here between developing new functionality and improving what already exists. You’ll be involved in solving real problems, contributing to live systems, and helping the team deliver dependable software in a practical, fast-moving environment.

For someone looking to build on the experience they already have, this is the kind of role that can accelerate growth quickly. Small enough to give you visibility, established enough to give you stability, and broad enough to help you build well-rounded experience. What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and improving modern web-based applications
  • Supporting enhancements across existing systems and platforms
  • Investigating issues, identifying root causes, and helping put effective fixes in place
  • Contributing across the software development lifecycle
  • Working with colleagues across the team to support product and platform improvement
  • Helping deliver software that is reliable, scalable, and user-focused

Requirements

We’d love to hear from developers who already have a solid grounding and want a role where they can keep growing while making a meaningful contribution from day one.

You will likely be a strong fit if you have:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a software development role
  • Experience with one or more of the following: ASP.NET, VB.NET, C, C#, or Java
  • Good understanding of databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • Strong organisation and time management skills

Nice to have

  • Exposure to app development
  • Knowledge of Web API, WCF, or React
  • Experience or awareness of cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure

What matters most

This client is looking for someone who brings:

  • A practical, steady approach to problem-solving
  • Good technical foundations and a willingness to keep learning
  • Ownership and follow-through
  • The ability to work well in a close-knit team
  • A collaborative attitude and a strong work ethic
  • The motivation to grow their career in an environment where they can have real visibility and impact

Benefits & conditions

  • Hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
  • Flexible working hours, with core hours for collaboration 10:00 - 16:00 Mon-Thurs
  • Based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, * Salary to be discussed
  • 36 days annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Ongoing L&D support
  • Private healthcare and life assurance
  • Free on-site parking
  • Employee discount scheme

About the company

Enably is hiring on behalf of a well-established technology business in Coleraine looking to add a Mid-Level Software Developer to its team.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who has already built a solid foundation in software development and is ready for a role with more ownership, more visibility, and more room to grow. You won’t be joining a huge engineering function where you disappear into one narrow part of the roadmap. You’ll be part of a smaller team where your contribution is visible, your development matters, and good work gets noticed.
