Job Title: Software Developer Client: Global engineering/manufacturing company Location: Peterborough Hourly Rate: £22.84 PAYE or £29.94 Umbrella Duration: 12 months Working arrangements: Fully site based About the Role: You’ll develop software, tools and automation that support the toolchain and workflow for a large control system development team. Your work will help engineering teams improve software quality, increase automation, and make development and test workflows more efficient. You’ll work across software applications, automation scripts, digital toolchains, data handling, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation solutions that support the control systems development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop software tools, scripts, and automation to support control system development. Translate user and engineering needs into clear software requirements and development tasks. Build, test, debug, and document software using modern software development practices. development, validation, and test workflows. Use tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio / VS Code, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Copilot, agentic workflows, and automated test frameworks. Key Skills: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline Proven experience in software development.
