Job description

Based in our Maidenhead office, you will work as part of a collaborative engineering team to develop, test, deploy, and improve software solutions for our customers and internal platforms. You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, contribute to product innovation, and work with colleagues across product, quality, support, and delivery., * Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.

  • Translate user stories, functional requirements, and technical specifications into robust, maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and best practice.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
  • Support software releases, deployments, monitoring, and ongoing product maintenance.
  • Contribute to technical planning, estimation, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure software is developed with appropriate consideration for security, privacy, reliability, and scalability.
  • Keep up to date with relevant technologies, tools, and development practices.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, or similar role.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages, such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar.
  • Experience developing web applications, APIs, backend services, or cloud-based software.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases.
  • Experience with Git, code review workflows, and agile development practices.
  • Understanding of software testing principles and automated testing tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, or DevOps practices would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
