Job description
The junior systems developer role supports a range of internally developed systems maintained by the Information Services Department. The individual in this role will work closely with ANI’s lead systems developer, receiving ongoing technical guidance while participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include assisting with system enhancements, supporting modernization efforts, developing and maintaining reports, and helping support internal users. Candidates are not expected to be experts in all technologies used by the department; curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn are critical for success. This role is well-suited for a developer early in their career who wants hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow technically within a small IT and systems development team., * Develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain internal applications according to specifications, with guidance from senior technical staff
- Assist with the modernization of legacy systems, enhancing existing systems and resolving bugs
- Develop and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services reports
- Create and update end-user and technical documentation
- Collaborate with internal users in the design and troubleshooting of systems
- Participate in meetings to understand needs and track progress

Requirements
Do you have experience in Visual Studio?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline with a strong programming foundation
- At least one year of hands-on development experience, or equivalent experience gained through a combination of professional work, internships, and academic projects.
- Experience with object-oriented programming principles.
- Exposure to Microsoft SQL or similar technology, including writing and troubleshooting queries
- Understanding of source control concepts
- Ability to apply coding principles to gain an understanding of other programming languages
- Ability to develop Windows desktop applications using C# and .NET in Visual Studio preferred
- Exposure to SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tools such as Power BI preferred
- Exposure to Visual Basic preferred
Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and business processes
- Work across multiple tasks and priorities
- After-hours availability to resolve time-sensitive issues (rare).
Physical Demands:
The ability to work at a computer workstation, view a computer monitor, and type are required. In addition, the ability to communicate orally in person, or in meetings is required.

This position is based out of ANI’s office in Glastonbury, CT. ANI uses a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days a week to be worked in the office., * System development: 1 year (Required)
