Systems Engineer

Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer - Data Integration Support to support one of our federal law enforcement clients. This role is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise data integration solutions that enable secure information sharing across criminal justice systems., * Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise data integration solutions supporting law enforcement information sharing initiatives.

• Design and utilize automated tools to improve data integration services and standardize integration processes.
• Develop new data integration solutions and enhance existing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) projects using commercial and custom vendor technologies.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections supporting secure data exchanges.
• Develop, test, validate, and maintain transformation code to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with established standards.
• Map source data to N-DEx and NIBRS XML data formats, including the N-DEx Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD).
• Coordinate deployment of transformation code to source systems and enable secure transmission through approved adapters.
• Support modernization initiatives involving data ingest, data integration, system federation, and data sharing capabilities.
• Provide technical and business support for data science, analytics, systems engineering, technical operations, and integration activities.
• Participate in technical meetings, teleconferences, and customer engagements with Criminal Justice Agencies (CJAs).
• Travel to CJAs as required to support data integration, implementation, testing, and technical assistance.

This role is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and modernization of the technical infrastructure supporting enterprise data integration operations. The Senior Systems Engineer will oversee system configuration, virtualization, automation, cloud infrastructure, web services, and secure data exchange technologies that enable mission-critical information sharing across criminal justice systems., The ideal candidate possesses extensive systems engineering expertise across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments, along with strong experience supporting enterprise integration platforms, cloud technologies, automation, and secure data exchange solutions within a highly secure federal environment. This position may be performed remotely or onsite in Clarksburg, West Virginia., * Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of enterprise computer systems, network servers, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware, software, operating systems, and virtual server environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by performing diagnostics, documenting root causes and resolutions, prioritizing incidents, and evaluating operational impacts.
• Develop, maintain, and utilize automated tools supporting enterprise data integration services and system modernization efforts.
• Support and maintain web services, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections, and secure data exchange capabilities.
• Develop, configure, and maintain ETL solutions and automated data integration tools supporting enterprise information sharing.

• Evaluate architectural constraints and recommend improvements that enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Install, configure, and maintain secure HTTPS web servers in both cloud and on-premises environments supporting static and dynamic web applications.
• Support Java application environments, APIs, Java Servlets, and JavaServer Pages (JSP) used to facilitate secure information sharing.
• Produce, maintain, and support data integration applications that transform multiple data sources into standardized XML formats.

Required Experience

Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• MUST have experience in web services, including Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST) protocols

• MUST have a strong background in Software Procedural Languages (SPL), specifically Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) and Transact-Structured Query Language (T-SQL)

• MUST have experience in programming languages such in one or more of the following:

• MUST possess database experience with one or more of the following:
• Oracle
• Postgres
• Microsoft Access
• MySQL

• SQL Developer

• MUST have experience transforming languages and schemas in one or more of the following
• XML
• Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT)
• XML Schema Definition (XSD)

• Document Type Definition (DTD)

• MUST have knowledge of data standards and data validation tools

• MUST have experience with SFTP for data connections

• MUST have knowledge and understanding of law enforcement (LE) data and IEPD specifications

Security Clearance

• Active Top Secret Clearance is required.
• Candidates must be able to maintain the required security clearance throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal law enforcement or criminal justice information systems.
• Familiarity with FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise data sharing initiatives and system federation.
• Experience working within a SAFe Agile environment.
