Role overviewIf you enjoy working in a collaborative and multicultural environment and are looking to advance your career, we’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic architects to join our growing multi?national practice, (ranked as a World Architecture 100 firm), in Madrid, Spain.Education and developmentWe encourage all our employees to work to the highest standards of professionalism whilst being self?reliant and showing independence of thought.In return, we’ll provide you with the experience and education to progress your career:Most of our projects move rapidly from concept to completion, giving you exposure to a wide range of job phases, including valuable site experience.Each local office is relatively small, so you’ll quickly feel part of a friendly, supportive team and work closely with senior colleagues.Our multi?national network allows collaboration with Hyphen’s offices across the UK, Europe, Latin America and beyond on projects for world?leading clients.Our hybrid working approach permits work from home up to three days each week (after a 6?month probation period) with the remaining time in our Madrid office.The roleWe are seeking a Senior Architect with strong experience in large?scale projects and technical environments to lead the architectural design of Data Centres for international clients.The role requires technical leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, and full ownership of architectural development across all project phases.The ideal candidate combines technical excellence, strategic thinking, team?management capabilities, and advanced BIM expertise.Key responsibilitiesArchitectural LeadershipLead the architectural design and development of highly complex large?scale projects (e.g., Data Centers, Logistics, Industry).Define technical solutions aligned with functional requirements, international standards, and client expectations.Manage and mentor architectural teams, ensuring technical quality and consistent documentation.Multidisciplinary CoordinationCoordinate MEP and CSA disciplines to ensure seamless integration across all project phases.Collaborate with consultants, engineering teams, and international stakeholders.Oversee BIM processes, model reviews, and advanced clash resolution.Project DevelopmentLead Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, and Construction Documentation stages.Ensure technical robustness and regulatory compliance of deliverables.Provide architectural criteria that improve functionality, operability, and constructability.Permitting and ComplianceOversee documentation for permits and administrative submissions.Ensure compliance with local and international regulations applicable to critical infrastructure.Construction Support (Desirable)Provide technical support during construction, ensuring correct interpretation of the design and resolving design?related issues.Your skills and experience5+ years of experience leading large?scale architectural projects.Demonstrated experience managing teams and complex technical coordination.Solid expertise in MEP and CSA coordination.Experience preparing documentation for permits and regulatory processes.Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (technical test required).C1 English, essential for international client interaction.Ability to thrive in demanding, high?performance global environments.Preferred qualificationsPrevious experience in Data Centre projects.Knowledge of additional BIM tools.Experience supporting construction works.What we offerOpportunity to work on flagship international Data Centre projects with high impact and strategic importance.A culture built on excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, where your expertise directly influences project outcomes.A supportive environment led by industry specialists, providing exposure to global standards, methodologies, and cutting?edge design principles.A workplace that values autonomy, professional integrity, and innovation, empowering you to shape both your projects and your career.LocationMadrid, Spain#J-*****-Ljbffr

Requirements

5+ years of experience leading large?scale architectural projects. Demonstrated experience managing teams and complex technical coordination. Solid expertise in MEP and CSA coordination. Experience preparing documentation for permits and regulatory processes. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (technical test required). C1 English, essential for international client interaction. Ability to thrive in demanding, high?performance global environments. Preferred qualifications Previous experience in Data Centre projects. Knowledge of additional BIM tools. Experience supporting construction works.
