Job description

We’re actively seeking a talented Systems Analyst to join our FAST Policy Admin team in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha NE, or Charlotte, NC (onsite 4 days per week).

As a Systems Analyst you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by providing system analysis support to our business partners, management, and technical staff. You will fill one of two new roles that sit on a team of about 8 people in the PL Technology division. Your colleagues will include developers, end users and fellow system analysis professionals. This role involves understanding business and system workflows, translating and implementing requirements, and engaging various business and technical teams in the transition of new functionality into the FAST administration system.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Analyze business opportunities/challenges, evaluate business needs, and clarify requirements and processes to help implement enhancements and fixes into the FAST administration system.
  • Work with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, prioritize use cases, and drive understanding.
  • Develop solutions to problems, coordinating with business areas, Digital Transformation teams, Technology and other cross-functional teams on overlapping functions.
  • Initiate and participate in application design sessions.
  • Engage and actively participate in sprint and release plans; participate in retrospectives to continually improve team processes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of contract administration and business processes supported by the contract administration system.
  • Use data to drive prioritization of business needs.
  • Through Change Management, develop, drive, and influence changes and improvements to current business processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of business analysis or equivalent experience in a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent experience.
  • Outside-the-box thinking with strong problem-solving skills; ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong ability to communicate in writing and verbally on both business and technical subjects.
  • Able to independently coordinate diverse and complex activities to accomplish a goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, solid teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay. $45.00 - $55.00
