Job description

  • Perform power-up and functional testing on various microcontroller-based circuit boards.
  • Program all components utilized on boards using IC programmers and MJS programmers.
  • Learn, operate, and support flying probe testing and programming.
  • Troubleshoot boards that fail testing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform minor board repairs and coordinate repair handoff to the Production Department.
  • Build breadboard prototypes to support engineering development efforts.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and engineering documentation.
  • Create and update drawings, test reports, and parts lists.
  • Maintain and update Engineering Department documentation in compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Maintain calibration records and support CIS documentation.
  • Communicate test results and reports to the Production Manager.
  • Identify potential issues early to prevent missed deadlines.
  • Communicate with customers when problems arise with supplied tests, master chips, or master diskettes.
  • Use common hand tools and lab equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other test equipment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and mechanically inclined.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting electronic assemblies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to read and understand electronic schematics and test documentation.
  • Skilled or willing to learn IC programming and flying probe operation.
  • Capable of Level 1 soldering and minor electronic repairs.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communicator with both internal teams and customers.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience with microcontroller board testing and programming.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Experience working in an ISO-regulated environment is a plus., * Electronics Technician: 2 years (Required)
