Job description

Under general direction, assists with the installation, maintenance, monitoring and modification of the organization’s local and remote wide area network system.

This position is expected to work in-office Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, and remote on Mondays and Fridays. Shift is 8AM - 5:30PM. Essential Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, monitors and modifies the organization’s local and remote wide area network system.
  • Designs, specifies, configures, installs and maintains local, remote and wide area network hardware, software, and data communication services such as personal computers, system software, applications, printers, servers, modems, switches, cabling, and internet service as assigned.
  • Assists with and may develop, test, implement, and enforce policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisitions, use, support, and security.
  • Assists with and may install, upgrade, configure, and maintain network devices, network printing, directory structures, rights, user environment, software, file services and related security issues.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of network configuration, network maps and cabling plans.
  • Trains users on software and equipment usage. Provides end user support, including responding to Helpline requests.
  • Researches and evaluates system needs and new technologies. Recommends solutions.
  • Ensures licensing conformity for all extents of responsibilities.
  • Maintains inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Monitors and maintains network stability.
  • Develops and implements disaster recovery plan, for review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years related experience and detailed knowledge of systems administration, computer hardware (e.g., IBM server line, Cisco UCS, NetApp Flash and SAS storage technology), computer software (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or 2016, Microsoft Exchange Online, Office 365, SQL Servers, VMWare ESX), and Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop (thin client architecture).
  • Experience with Cisco products, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, desktop operating systems, and server hardware troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs in position related area, including highly technical knowledge of company procedures and policies.
  • Familiarity with current developments and trends in areas of expertise.
  • Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
