Job description
Serve as the cloud infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the enterprise Observability Program.
- Lead AWS scorecard initiatives, including defining KPIs, collecting data, and preparing operational reports.
- Support and implement monitoring and observability requirements for AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Design and build cloud monitoring standards, dashboards, key metrics, and health indicators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ScienceLogic, Splunk, ServiceNow ITOM, Database, BI) to provide comprehensive visibility across cloud services.
- Develop and maintain operational scorecards tracking availability, reliability, performance, capacity, security, and compliance.
- Analyze and monitor cloud infrastructure health to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
- Enhance automated discovery, monitoring, and alerting within enterprise observability platforms.
- Promote and enforce cloud governance and operational best practices.
- Participate in cloud-related troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
Requirements
Requires 7+ years of cloud infrastructure/operations experience, 5+ years hands-on AWS experience, and 3+ years supporting GCP.
- Must have strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Route 53).
- Demonstrate expertise in cloud observability, monitoring, performance reporting, and the use of enterprise monitoring tools.
- Possess strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, scalability, and incident response.
- Exhibit strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
