Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Database Developer to join our team in the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC office.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 support by investigating and resolving data related alerts and incidents generated by applications.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot queries and data questions to address tickets in a timely manner.
  • Assist in performance analysis of databases and processing workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Support basic data engineering activities including ETL/loader monitoring and incremental improvements.
  • Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure data reliability, quality, and timely issue resolution.
  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience in database design and data modeling.
  • 2 or more years of SQL development experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience creating and maintaining tables, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures and functions, packages.

Additional Job Standards

  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts.
  • SQL and PL/SQL coding techniques.
  • Solid understanding of SQL tuning practices and indexing and partitioning strategies.
  • Knowledge of database programming using T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar.
  • ETL experience.
  • Knowledge of query performance tuning.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills., We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Database Developer to join our organization and provide troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of data-related issues.
