Job description
We are seeking a highly structured and hands-on Test Engineer to support the testing of a new product prototype in a lab environment. This role is critical to ensuring successful test execution, documentation, and communication during a fast-paced and high-pressure phase of our program. The successful candidate will assist a team of engineers focused on motor design and contribute to the launch readiness of our first-generation system.
Responsibilities

Execute testing of an existing battery-coupled heat pump prototype in a lab environment.

Develop, document, and maintain detailed test plans, procedures, and results.

Ensure test documentation is disciplined and updates are accurate and timely.

Track test progress, issues, and risks using Jira and related tools.

Communicate results, test feedback, and issues clearly to engineers and stakeholders.

Support and collaborate closely with a lead engineer focused on motor design.

Provide structured feedback on system behavior, issues, and anomalies.

Navigate ambiguity, tight schedules, and evolving requirements typical of an early-generation product launch., The role is based in a lab environment where you will work closely with cutting-edge test equipment and technologies. Requirements

Experience in a test engineering, validation, or lab-focused role.

Ability to create and execute structured test plans.

Experience using Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.

Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.

Comfort working with electronic components, PCBs, and power electronics concepts.

Ability to troubleshoot at a system level and communicate findings clearly.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

Positive attitude and resilience when working under schedule pressure.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Exposure to or general understanding of power electronics.

Familiarity with basic firmware troubleshooting.

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
