Job description

job summary: GIS Analyst needed in Kansas City, MO. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading Engineering and consulting firm on GIS projects for some of the top organizations in the country within the energy, utility and engineering space.

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or closely related science field required.
  • Geographic Information System professional certificate preferred not required.
  • Position requires ability to work independently demonstrating accuracy, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must have a min 1-2 years relevant experience.

responsibilities:

  • Assist with GIS analysis, data development, data collection, and mapping for client projects while supporting both internal and external project teams.
  • Assist with GIS metadata creation, digital feature extraction, land survey record searches, and ownership data research from a variety of sources.
  • Assist with coordinate system projections and geospatial data transformations for project deliverables.
  • Assist in creating and updating GIS maps, map layers, and geospatial databases. Assist with georeferencing raster and vector datasets.
  • Assist with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of GIS deliverables to ensure compliance with client and project requirements. Regularly communicate project status with project teams and clients to support successful project execution.
