Job description

F2 Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) Warfighter Support Division Drone Lab at Camp Pendleton, California. This position focuses on designing, expanding, integrating, and sustaining tactical and enterprise network infrastructure supporting emerging Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) capabilities.

The selected candidate will work directly with government engineers to develop and integrate secure network solutions that enable UAS Position Location Information (PLI), Full Motion Video (FMV), and tactical communications across Marine Corps network environments. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring strong networking fundamentals, tactical communications knowledge, and the ability to solve complex integration challenges., * Design, implement, and expand tactical and enterprise network infrastructure supporting the Drone Lab.

  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, and virtual networking environments.
  • Integrate UAS systems into Marine Corps tactical and enterprise networks.
  • Engineer solutions supporting transmission of Position Location Information (PLI) and Full Motion Video (FMV).
  • Integrate tactical transport technologies including MANET radios, satellite communications, RF systems, tactical fiber, and other transport capabilities.
  • Configure and maintain network services including DNS, Domain Controllers, and other core infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain Wi-Fi and wireless networking solutions supporting tactical environments.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement infrastructure improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network issues.
  • Develop network diagrams, engineering documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical guides.
  • Support installation, configuration, testing, backups, and sustainment of hardware and software systems.
  • Collaborate with government personnel during experimentation, testing, and field demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Five or more years of experience designing and supporting enterprise and tactical network infrastructure.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco or comparable enterprise networking equipment.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Routing and switching
  • VLANs
  • Network security
  • Wireless networking
  • Virtualized network environments
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Camp Pendleton.

Desired Qualifications: Candidates with one or more of the following are highly desired:

  • Experience supporting Marine Corps tactical communications.
  • Familiarity with the TAK ecosystem (ATAK/WinTAK).
  • Experience integrating tactical radio networks including:
  • Silvus
  • TrellisWare
  • Persistent Systems
  • Knowledge of MANET networking.
  • Experience supporting tactical transport systems including satellite, RF, line-of-sight, and tactical fiber.
  • Experience integrating UAS platforms into secure network environments.
  • Experience supporting C5ISR systems.
  • Understanding of Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN), MCTG, and Secure But Unclassified (SBU) network environments.
  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certification.
