Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Architect

Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, modernization, and migration of enterprise file services from on premises NetApp environments to AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP. This role will drive architecture decisions, migration execution, stakeholder engagement, and technical governance activities while partnering with cloud, networking, infrastructure, and application teams. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across architecture design, Terraform module enhancements, migration planning, disaster recovery strategy, and operational readiness. Responsibilities:

• Design and validate AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP architectures across primary and disaster recovery regions.
• Evaluate and improve existing Terraform modules used for FSx provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Partner with cloud networking teams to support connectivity, routing, access control, and security requirements.
• Execute and support migrations utilizing AWS DataSync, SnapMirror replication, and native AWS migration tools.
• Coordinate migration and cutover activities while minimizing business disruption.
• Track migration progress across multiple workloads, volumes, and user environments.
• Gather and validate requirements from infrastructure, application, directory services, and business stakeholders.
• Translate business and technical requirements into actionable architecture and migration plans.
• Prepare architecture reviews, migration proposals, and technical documentation for review board approvals.
• Document design decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Maintain Jira epics, stories, backlog items, and status reporting for migration workstreams.
• Ensure migration activities integrate with existing DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code practices.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout planning, execution, testing, and operational transition phases.

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and Well Architected Framework principles.
• Hands on experience with NetApp ONTAP administration and architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP solutions.
• Experience with AWS DataSync migrations.
• Experience with SnapMirror replication and migration methodologies.
• Advanced Terraform experience including module development, enhancement, and consumption.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including routing, connectivity, and security design.
• Experience working with DevOps practices and deployment pipelines.
• Proficiency using Jira for backlog management, planning, and reporting.
• Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management experience.
• Ability to present technical solutions and recommendations to architecture review boards and senior technical leadership.
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience migrating large scale enterprise NAS environments to AWS.
• Experience supporting Unix based environments.
• Familiarity with Oracle Unified LDAP integrations and identity dependent file services.
• Experience designing multi region disaster recovery or active active cloud architectures.
• AWS certifications and NetApp certifications are highly desired.
