Job description

Oracle Database Administrator needed for an opportunity with SOC’s client to work at Fort Meade, Maryland.

Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Required!

Seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) Level 2 to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise database environments in a secure government setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Oracle databases, implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and supporting cloud-based database technologies. This role requires expertise in database performance tuning, security, migration, and lifecycle management while ensuring the integrity, availability, and reliability of mission-critical data systems. __________________

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle and cloud-native database environments, including Oracle OEM Cloud Control, Oracle Data Guard, AWS RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
  • Monitor database performance, perform tuning and optimization, and support disaster recovery and high availability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, database schemas, queries, and data structures to improve system performance.
  • Manage database security, user accounts, access controls, and data protection policies.
  • Support database migrations, upgrades, backup and recovery operations, and lifecycle maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with Database Engineers and system administrators to implement architecture changes and optimize enterprise database solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant DBA experience (or equivalent experience as defined by the LCAT).
  • Extensive experience administering Oracle database environments.
  • Experience with Oracle OEM Cloud Control, Oracle Data Guard, and cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of database security, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery best practices.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience migrating on-premises Oracle databases to AWS cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Label Security (OLS), database automation, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community database environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills with experience supporting highly available, mission-critical systems.
