Back End Engineer

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll design, build and operate scalable Python services, working closely with AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Platform teams to deliver secure, reliable and high-performing systems., You’ll take ownership of backend services from design through to production, helping shape architecture and engineering standards while solving real-world challenges around scalability, reliability and AI integration., * Design and develop scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python.

• Integrate AI, machine learning and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into production applications.
• Build secure, resilient and observable cloud-native services.
• Design data models, APIs and system integrations.
• Improve testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, architects and product stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and best practice.

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications with Python.
• Experience designing APIs and distributed backend systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of databases, data modelling and system integration.
• Good knowledge of CI/CD, testing and observability.
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs.
