Above all, we foster a culture where smart, genuine people support each other, pursue their dreams, and thrive together., This is a unique opportunity for a bright and curious Technical Analyst (Choice Modeling) to play a critical role in strengthening SKIM’s analytical backbone and elevating the quality of our conjoint and advanced modeling work. You will join our Rotterdam team as a technical specialist, owning and executing the technically complex parts of conjoint and advanced analytics projects, empowering our consultants to deliver actionable insights. In this role you will collaborate closely with our consultants and our Methodology & Analytics experts. Your main objective is to achieve excellence in project management and become an expert in conjoint methodology applied among different research areas such as Pricing, Portfolio Management, Innovation and Brand Communications. In this position, you will build up your methodological knowledge and technical skills quickly due to the variety and complexity of the modeling approaches. Specifically, you will be working on:

  • Methodological consulting, design and implementation. Thinking along with project teams on the appropriate research methodology to answer the business questions of the client. Translating finalized business inputs into robust conjoint designs and ensuring the technical setup aligns with business decisions.
  • Advanced conjoint exercise programming. Programming customized conjoint exercises in our dedicated software (Sawtooth software) and use HTML/JavaScript/CSS/Perl to improve survey layouts for higher respondent engagement, while collaborating closely with Scripting Specialists to ensure accurate and efficient survey implementation.
  • Coding and statistical design creation. Creating the statistical design for the conjoint exercises using our in-house developed tools; defining attribute levels, prohibitions, constraints, and design structures to ensure statistical rigor and model stability.
  • Data preparation & modeling . Cleaning and recoding raw choice data, running estimation models, validating utilities, and conducting model diagnostics to ensure precision, robustness, and readiness for simulation.
  • Dashboard building & scenario execution. Migrating conjoint utility outputs into market simulation tools, setting up model logic to reflect true decision contexts, validating simulator functionality, and running initial scenarios or optimizations to prepare the data analysis and insights extraction for the client consulting teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a dedicated, curious and enthusiastic team player. Typically, we are looking for someone with the following profile:

  • Relevant degree in Business Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
  • 0-2 years of professional experience ranging from relevant internships to work experience. Note: having no professional experience is not a disadvantage
  • Passionate about working with numbers and predictive models, and you are comfortable working with big data files (or eager to learn)
  • A critical thinker, challenging outcomes and asking the right questions
  • Collaborative attitude. This is an essential part of SKIM’s and each SKIMmer’s success, so you need to be able to work well in a team, support others, share knowledge, encourage each other’s success, and contribute to our SKIM community
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
