Job description

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in developing data governance policies, controls, processes and standards, alongside experience of improving the quality, consistency and usability of complex operational or regulatory datasets. You’ll also have a track record of translating business, policy or regulatory needs into practical governance solutions and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams., * Strong background in creating and maintaining data management/governance policies, controls, processes, and standards. (LEAD)

  • Experience improving the quality, consistency and usability of complex operational or regulatory datasets, including embedding new frameworks and ways of working into business-as-usual.
  • Experience translating business, policy or regulatory needs into prioritised data or governance deliverables that support operational delivery and decision-making.
  • Ability to work across policy, analytical, digital and technical teams to turn data governance requirements into practical solutions that support decision-making., * Changing and Improving

About the company

As Ofgem transforms the way it uses data, we’re looking for a Senior Manager Data Governance to lead the development of the governance, standards and frameworks needed to support smarter regulation and better decision-making.

Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting consumers, especially vulnerable people.

This is a permanent opportunity to join a new team that’s playing a crucial role in our data transformation programme. You’ll have the chance to build and embed a practical approach to data governance from the ground up, helping ensure data is trusted, well managed and used effectively across the organisation.

Working alongside colleagues from across the organisation, you’ll be able to influence how data is managed, and create the standards that will support how data is used now and into the future.
