Data Centre Engineer

• Installation, termination and testing of copper and fibre optic cabling.
• Structured cabling installations to industry standards.
• Installation of containment including basket tray, trunking, conduit and ladder rack.
• Installation and dressing of fibre and copper patching.
• Cabinet and rack build-outs, including server cabinet installation.
• Installation of PDUs, cable management and blanking panels.
• Labelling and documentation in accordance with project standards.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and floor plans.
• Testing and fault-finding using Fluke and fibre testing equipment.
• Working within live data centre environments while following strict change control procedures.
• Equipment installation, relocation and decommissioning.
• Smart hands support, including patching, hardware swaps and basic server support.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping

• Proven experience working within data centres.
• Strong structured cabling experience (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and fibre).
• Experience terminating and testing copper and fibre.
• Knowledge of data centre best practices and standards.
• ECS card.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred).
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends when required.

Desirable

• IPAF and PASMA.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience with containment systems and rack elevations.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
