Job description
We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established business looking for an IT Manager to oversee day-to-day internal IT support across the organisation. This is a hands-on IT role with a strong operational focus. You’ll become the go-to person for colleagues across the business while working alongside an experienced Managed Service Provider (MSP), who will support with more complex technical issues, higher-level escalations and project work.
It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being visible within a business, building relationships with users and taking ownership of internal IT support.
The role
Based at the company’s head office, you’ll provide day-to-day technical support to users across the business, helping to keep systems running smoothly while delivering a reliable and responsive IT service.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing first and second-line support for hardware, software and user issues.
- Setting up laptops, user accounts, mobile devices, printers and other IT equipment.
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows and other business applications.
- Managing user accounts, permissions and access across key systems.
- Troubleshooting desktop, mobile and connectivity issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Working alongside the company’s MSP to resolve more complex technical issues and support ongoing improvements.
- Maintaining IT equipment, asset registers and technical documentation.
- Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective.
- Assisting with routine system maintenance, backups and general IT administration.

Please note: This is an office-based position, five days per week, as the role involves regular face-to-face support for colleagues and occasional visits to other company locations.
Pay: £37,500.00-£42,500.00 per year
Requirements
You’ll enjoy helping people, take pride in delivering excellent customer service and be comfortable managing a varied workload in a hands-on environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an IT Support, Senior IT Support or similar hands-on technical role.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems and cloud-based services.
- A good understanding of desktop support, user administration and basic networking.
- Experience working with or alongside an external IT support provider would be beneficial.
- Exposure to business systems such as Syrinx, Dimensions or Power BI would be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
- Microsoft, CompTIA or similar certifications would be welcomed but aren’t essential.
