Job description

As Senior Content Designer, you will lead the design, governance and continuous improvement of some of UCL’s most strategically important institutional content, including major sections of the UCL web estate and content supporting Research, Innovation and Global Engagement. You will bring extensive experience of developing complex content structures, influencing senior stakeholders, and translating organisational priorities into clear, accessible and user-centred digital content. Working across Digital Experience, RIGE and other senior university functions, you will drive content transformation initiatives, support strategic content decision-making and champion best practice content design across UCL. Please note: This vacancy is currently open only to existing UCL employees.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading content strategy and content design for large, complex sections of the UCL web estate.
  • Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders to shape institutional narratives and digital experiences.
  • Extensive experience planning and delivering Drupal content transformation and migration activity.
  • A strong track record of developing content structures, governance approaches and editorial standards that improve user experience at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of UCL’s content ecosystem, editor community and web governance processes.
  • Experience using research, testing and analytics to inform content decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
