Job description
The Network Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance (O&M), lifecycle management, and security of the ESS/LENEL network infrastructure supporting USSOUTHCOM Security Enterprise Services (ESS). This role provides Tier 3 technical support and serves as a subject matter expert for complex network, systems, storage, virtualization, and cybersecurity issues across classified and enterprise environments.
The Network Engineer will design, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical network infrastructure and associated technologies while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), USSOUTHCOM, and cybersecurity regulations., * Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure ESS/LENEL network infrastructure, including network devices, DNS, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backups, and end-user systems.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex network and systems issues, including root cause analysis, solution development, testing, and implementation.
- Monitor network performance, security events, and system health using FCAPS and SIEM tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Support cybersecurity operations, access control, log management, incident response, and compliance with USSOUTHCOM and DoD regulations.
- Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call support for critical system failures and operational continuity.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Communication skills?, * Current CompTIA Security+ (Security+) certification or equivalent.
- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent.
- Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, and Tier 3 troubleshooting in secure environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS/DHCP, Active Directory, virtualization, storage systems, SIEM tools, and network security technologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with troubleshooting complex network and systems issues.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, incident response, and compliance standards.
- Ability to document technical procedures and solutions clearly.
