Job description
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join a growing field services team supporting residential and commercial telecommunications projects. In this role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot broadband, voice, data, and structured cabling systems while delivering excellent customer service and following industry safety standards.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in fiber optics, low-voltage systems, structured cabling, or telecommunications installations.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test copper, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
- Install and configure broadband, voice, and network equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on telecommunications systems.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings.
- Complete service calls and installations in residential and commercial environments.
- Document work performed and communicate project updates.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures while working in the field.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude on every job site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience installing or servicing telecommunications, fiber optic, or low-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, cable termination, and cable management.
- Ability to troubleshoot telecommunications or network-related issues.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work outdoors, and perform physical field work.
- Fiber optic, structured cabling, or telecommunications certifications are a plus.
