Job description

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Electrical Telecom Technicians for a large-scale industrial construction project in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting telecommunications and low-voltage electrical systems supporting mission-critical industrial operations. Candidates should have experience in commercial or industrial construction and be committed to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, and secure fiber optic, CAT5e/CAT6, coaxial, and communication cabling.
  • Install cable tray, J-hooks, conduit, and raceway systems for telecom infrastructure.
  • Pull, label, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Install and terminate patch panels, network cabinets, communication racks, and equipment enclosures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, telecom drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
  • Perform continuity, certification, and fiber testing using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Assist with installation of structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot communication circuits and perform system verification.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, cable labeling, and as-built drawings.
  • Follow OSHA, NEC, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate work with electricians, controls technicians, and other trades to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial telecom/low-voltage installation experience.
  • Experience with structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings.
  • Experience installing cable tray, conduit, and raceway systems.
  • Familiarity with fiber termination and testing equipment preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and operate from ladders or aerial lifts.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime as needed.

  • Fiber optic splicing and testing
  • CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A structured cabling
  • Network rack and cabinet installation
  • Access control and CCTV systems
  • Industrial manufacturing, semiconductor, or data center construction
