Job description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting SES’s server, software, and hardware infrastructure. This role ensures that critical systems remain operational, secure, and optimized to support business continuity. The Systems Administrator also plays a key part in troubleshooting issues, implementing improvements, and supporting end users across all SES locations., * Administer, maintain, and support servers, storage systems, operating systems, and business-critical applications.

  • Manage user accounts, group policies, permissions, and directory structures within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain system updates, patches, and software applications to ensure performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues escalated through the IT support process.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, recommending upgrades or enhancements proactively.
  • Maintain backup solutions, recovery processes, and support business continuity planning.
  • Deploy and support endpoint devices, mobile technologies, and peripherals across SES locations.
  • Assist in developing and documenting system procedures, configurations, and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and vendors to support system migrations, technology rollouts, and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to end users as needed.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration, technical support, or related IT roles.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Strong understanding of system backups, patch management, and endpoint management tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Preferred

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA Server+, A+, Microsoft 365, Azure, or relevant Microsoft MCP/MCSA certifications.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, network storage, or mobile device management (MDM).
  • Familiarity with industrial operations or multi-site support environments.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, batch scripts, etc.)., * Excellent Written and Oral Communication

JOB DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and potential environmental hazards.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines, analyze operational challenges, and make high-stakes decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments
  • Travel required, including overnight stays as needed
