Job description

Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled Automation QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and manual QA engineers to integrate automated testing into our development lifecycle and continuously raise our quality standards., * Analyze product requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, efficient automated test scripts for web applications, mobile applications, and/or RESTful APIs.
  • Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to ensure automated feedback on code changes.
  • Execute automated test runs, analyze results, identify bugs, and log detailed defect reports with reproducible steps.
  • Update and maintain existing test suites to adapt to evolving application features, user interface changes, and bug fixes.
  • Track quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect density, build pass rates) and present QA results to engineering stakeholders.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives) and work closely with developers to debug issues early in the SDLC.

Requirements

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience with automation testing to be considered for this role., * 5+ years of QA experience, with a strong focus on automated testing.

  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#).
  • Solid understanding of automated testing patterns (e.g., Page Object Model), test architecture, and assertions.
  • Hands-on experience testing REST/SOAP APIs and validating payload structures, status codes, and security.
  • Familiarity with DOM manipulation, locators (CSS selectors, XPath), and browser automation principles.
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems for test code management.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills to identify root causes of failures and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Initiative and drive to do great things

Nice to haves

  • Experience with Performance, Load, or Security testing fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and continuous delivery environments.
  • Understanding of standard database systems and basic SQL for data validation.
  • Relevant QA certification (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or equivalent) is a plus.
