Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET)

• QA Strategy & Architecture: Independently design, scale, and own the E2E test strategy and framework architecture for complex, modern web applications.
• Framework Engineering: Build, maintain, and optimize robust automation frameworks using Cypress and TypeScript / JavaScript.
• CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Automate and embed production smoke tests and regression suites into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins) to ensure fast, reliable releases.
• Backend Troubleshooting & Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate test failures by analyzing API payloads, container logs (Kubernetes/Docker), and reading backend code written in Python or Go to provide detailed, actionable context to developers.
• Process Leadership & Documentation: Establish clear QA guidelines, lead structured bug bashes, refine test case tracking workflows, and author clear technical documentation for the engineering team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with software engineers, product owners, and DevOps to embed a “shift-left” quality culture early in the SDLC.

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to take immediate ownership of our web application’s Quality Assurance strategy, testing workflows, and automation pipeline.

This is not an execution-only or manual testing role. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who

can independently audit our existing web applications, architect robust End-to-End (E2E)

automation suites, and seamlessly integrate automated production smoke tests into our CI/CD

pipelines.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer with a heavy focus on web automation to be considered for this role., * BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of dedicated experience in Software Quality Engineering with a heavy focus on web automation.
• Hands-on Cypress Expertise: 2+ years of recent, intensive experience building and scaling Cypress frameworks using TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Backend Code Readability: Demonstrated ability to read, navigate, and debug backend services written in Python or Go.
• DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines: Proven track record of configuring automated “quality gates” and parallel test execution in CI/CD environments.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Proficient in capturing application logs, using DevTools, inspecting network calls (APIs), and writing SQL queries for data verification.
• Communication: Exceptional, structured, and concise communication skills with a focus
• on active listening and clarity.
• Have solid ability to work independently and maintain a positive work attitude, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Solid written and verbal English skills.
