Job description

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who owns features end to end: UI/UX, APIs, and the services behind all of it. Most of the day-to-day is building the interfaces our clients use, but the role runs the full depth of the stack.

The work is broad, and you’ll have a lot of latitude in how you approach it. You’ll take on real problems across the product, decide how best to solve them, and own what you build, with real input on how we make things better. Our goal is to make great products that make people’s work easier. Your job will be to make that a reality, from concept to deployed solutions for real customers.

We move fast, keep our codebase clean, and take tech debt seriously.

What You’ll Do

Engineering

  • Build and own features across the stack, seeing them through to production
  • Turn requirements into interfaces that are usable and accessible, and raise the bar on every screen you touch
  • Ship incrementally and continuously. This is a living product that is constantly improving
  • Turn client feedback into improvements that make the whole product better, instead of just building one-off fixes
  • Own your features after they’re live. Debug, monitor, and keep them healthy in production

Collaboration

  • Work autonomously while staying closely coordinated with an async-first team
  • Collaborate across the team on both core product and client work
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and documentation

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • A track record of shipping real software to production - things you owned, where the decisions were yours to make and live with
  • Genuine full-stack range: strong design sensibilities, the skills to turn those designs into functional frontends, and the APIs and services required to power them
  • Experience with a modern JavaScript framework (we use Vue)
  • The ability to write composable, reusable CSS that scales cleanly and keeps the product consistent with our design system
  • You use AI tools in your own workflow and have a point of view on how they should work
  • An eye for how things should look and feel, consistent with the product, without a designer spec’ing every detail

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience owning a system or product area over time, operating semi-autonomously
  • Multi-tenant or multi-environment SaaS experience
  • Experience with Git branching and release workflows across multiple environments
  • Startup experience, or a clear sense of what building in one is like

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with auth systems (Keycloak, OAuth2/OIDC)
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure behind a production app (GCP, Docker, CI/CD)
  • Experience with writing and maintaining tests across the stack

Benefits & conditions

401(k), Health insurance, 401(k) matching, Paid time off, Vision insurance, Dental insurance, Flexible schedule Full-time Remote, * Range - freedom to work across the whole stack and grow what you do

  • A close team - a small, senior group that works together and helps each other level up
  • Growth - a clear path to a lead role as the team grows
  • Equity - early-stage equity at an AI startup
  • Flexibility - fully remote with flexible hours

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 per year. Placement within the range is based on role-relevant experience and skills. This range reflects what we genuinely expect to pay for the position; it is determined by the role and is not negotiable. Compensation also includes early-stage equity, health/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, and a fully remote work arrangement.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year, * 401(k)

  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

About the company

THIA is transforming how small and medium enterprises build internal applications and automate business processes. Our AI-powered platform enables business experts to create custom applications using natural language, eliminating the need for expensive development teams. We’re well-funded, generating revenue, and solving real problems for companies that need more than off-the-shelf software., We build AI-powered products, and we expect you to build them the same way - with AI, heavily and skillfully. Proficiency with modern AI coding tools is a requirement, not a bonus: it’s how a small team ships like a much larger one. We want engineers who use AI to amplify their own thinking, not outsource it - you drive the design and the decisions, and AI accelerates the build. The bar is ownership: you understand and stand behind everything you ship, however it was written.
