Job description

As an Interface Engineer in Pittsburgh, you will play a pivotal role in connecting complex subsystems that keep cities moving. Your work ensures seamless integration across engineering disciplines, directly impacting the reliability and safety of automated transit systems. Your role, Your impact

  • Define and manage functional interfaces across multiple subsystems in automated transit systems.
  • Lead cross-discipline reviews to drive design quality and provide technical feedback.
  • Develop and maintain context diagrams and Interface Control Matrices for turnkey systems.
  • Ensure interface definitions are controlled, documented, and updated in collaboration with design engineers.
  • Monitor and report interface issues using key performance indicators to optimize project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering or technical functions, ideally with field exposure to railway systems.
  • Ability to build customer value by delivering fit-for-purpose solutions and maintaining trust-based relationships.
  • Strong collaborative skills to engage diverse stakeholders and drive collective success.
  • Ownership, transparency, and a results-driven mindset to deliver high-quality work on time.

How success is measured

  • Accurate and timely definition and management of subsystem interfaces.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication with engineering teams.
  • Consistent delivery of project milestones and resolution of interface issues.
