The Mount Rogers Health District is seeking a highly skilled Program Support Technician Senior to independently perform advanced technical office tasks in support of one or more public health programs.
This position will oversee and support the Title V Maternal Child Health program for the Mount Rogers Health District. Title V is a part of the Title V Maternal and Child Health Services block grant to the states in accordance with Social Security Act of 1935 [Sec 501(a)(1)(A)] to “provide and to assure mothers and children (in particular those with low income or with limited availability of health services) access to quality maternal and child health services. Title V commits to the provision of the assurance of mothers and children (in particular, those with low income or with limited availability of health services) access to quality maternal and child health service. Mount Rogers Health District is committed to providing services for Maternal Child Health that improve the health and birth outcomes of pregnant women and their children.
This position supports the program in that the grant requirements and specifications are being met and evaluates progress toward stated goals within the grant; as well as responsibilities for data analysis and reporting current statistical data for grant processes. Quarterly meeting attendance either virtual or in person, bi annual data reporting, development of tools for data collection, and program compliance will be a major focus for this role. Additional responsibilities will include meetings with Statewide Title V coordinator, collaboration with Title V technical assistance, complying with various requests from the Title V office and compiling the Workforce Capacity assessment.
In addition to technical responsibilities, this position also functions as a lead worker, offering guidance, direction, and training to other staff. The PST Sr. designs and manages workflow processes to improve operational efficiency, coordinates and promotes program activities, and may assist with financial or procurement tasks as needed. This role is essential in ensuring smooth and effective program operations across the district.
This position may be housed at the Galax City Health Department or Carroll County Health Department, depending on operational needs.
- This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the (Maternal Child Health (MCH) Services Title V for a 1 year period ending 6/30/2027 . The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.
Requirements
- Knowledge of program operations, services, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to serve as an expert resource, providing accurate information and resolving inquiries.
- Experience in designing and directing workflow processes to enhance program efficiency.
- Ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in collecting, entering, and reviewing data for discrepancies.
- Ability to maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ability to generate reports and interpret data to inform program activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and experience with software applications and Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, and database entry) and general office equipment
