Job description
We are looking for a hands-on Systems Integration & Platform Engineer to help support and improve the software, device-management, cloud, manufacturing, and field-service workflows behind our medical device platform. You do not need to be the sole owner of our Windows, MDM, or cloud environments on day one. However, you should be comfortable operating in those environments, learning how they work, troubleshooting issues, documenting processes, and gradually taking ownership of repeatable operational tasks. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety: debugging Windows issues one day, helping manufacturing troubleshoot a device configuration problem the next, running software DV tests, writing a clean procedure, poking at a prototype, or trying to break a new software build before it reaches the field. The ideal candidate is a technical generalist who likes understanding how systems actually work. They are not afraid to dig through Windows logs, read documentation, test assumptions, write a script, plug in hardware, reproduce a weird field issue, or turn a tribal-knowledge process into a clear procedure.
This role is best suited for a mid-level to early-senior engineer with strong hands-on troubleshooting ability. The person does not need to be a senior architect, but they should be technical enough to operate independently, investigate ambiguous issues, and become a reliable owner of day-to-day platform and integration support tasks.
Job Duties
Platform and Device Operations
· Support day-to-day operation of our Windows-based device fleet, including troubleshooting, configuration, software deployment, imaging/provisioning, and field/manufacturing support issues.
· Help administer and support our MDM platform, currently SOTI MobiControl, under the guidance of the platform/software lead.
· Assist with device enrollment, policy deployment, remote support workflows, software rollout, patching, fleet health checks, and operational monitoring.
· Investigate issues involving Windows behavior, services, drivers, application startup, networking, remote access, kiosk mode, MDM policies, and third-party software components.
· Help manage and improve operational workflows across our cloud platform, MDM platform, device software, manufacturing systems, and service processes.
· Build scripts, tools, dashboards, or automations that reduce manual work.
Manufacturing and Field Service Support
· Serve as an engineering escalation point for manufacturing and field-service teams when device software, Windows, MDM, cloud sync, networking, or configuration issues arise.
· Reproduce, diagnose, document, and resolve issues reported from production builds, fielded systems, and internal test devices.
· Help turn recurring support issues into documented procedures, tooling improvements, software fixes, or better configuration management.
· Work cross-functionally with software, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, service, and quality teams.
Software DV, Testing, and Documentation
· Assist in writing, running, and maintaining software design verification tests.
· Execute software and system-level test procedures, collect results, document failures, and help drive issues to closure.
· Help create and maintain test protocols and reports, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions.
· Improve documentation around platform operations, device setup, and MDM workflows.
· Help make our processes more repeatable, auditable, and easier for others to follow.
Systems Integration, Prototyping, and Experiments
· Support hardware/software integration activities, feasibility testing, and evaluation of new platforms or components.
· Run experiments, collect data, summarize findings, and make practical recommendations.
· Work hands-on with devices, test equipment, development hardware, and prototype systems.
· Explore new software builds, hardware configurations, platforms, and tools with a curious and critical mindset.
· Look for edge cases, failure modes, confusing workflows, and brittle assumptions before they become field problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar.
- 3-5 years of hands-on engineering experience.
- Strong written communication skills and willingness to document processes clearly.
- A practical engineering mindset: organized, curious, hands-on, and comfortable switching between software, systems, hardware, and process work.
- Ability to work independently on day-to-day tasks while knowing when to escalate architectural or high-risk decisions.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and become progressively more self-sufficient over time.
- Experience supporting technical operations, manufacturing, service, lab, or field-device environments., * Strong hands-on Windows troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with logs, services, drivers, installers, networking, the registry, permissions, startup behavior, and PowerShell.
- Ability to debug complex and messy integration problems across software, operating systems, networking, cloud services, hardware, and third-party tools.
- Comfort with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Experience managing fleets of Windows-based devices using an MDM/UEM platform (e.g., SOTI MobiControl, Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, Jamf, or similar). Experience with SOTI MobiControl is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Windows IoT, kiosk mode, device lockdown, AppLocker, BitLocker, provisioning packages, or production device imaging.
- Experience with AWS, cloud APIs, REST services, databases, telemetry systems, or cloud-based device management.
- Experience in a regulated industry, medical device environment, manufacturing environment, or quality-controlled engineering process is a plus.
- Experience writing or executing software verification, validation, integration, or regression test procedures.
- Experience with test equipment, hardware bring-up, embedded systems, lab experiments, or prototype evaluation.
- Experience creating internal tooling, dashboards, deployment scripts, or manufacturing/service utilities., * Do you have professional experience supporting Windows-based devices and troubleshooting Windows environments?
- Are you authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship?
