Job description

Label and curate diverse datasets to directly influence how next-generation AI systems learn and reason. This contractor role focuses on high-quality annotation work across multiple domains, where your domain knowledge, critical thinking, and attention to detail drive model performance. No prior AI experience is required. About micro1: micro1 is an AI data lab that turns real-world subject matter expertise into training data and evaluations for advanced models. Experts from fields such as finance, healthcare, and STEM contribute to improving model behavior, and the organization uses AI-assisted vetting to scale expert contributions. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and annotate a variety of data types following detailed project guidelines.
  • Apply critical thinking to produce accurate, consistent, and relevant labels.
  • Collaborate with project leads to resolve ambiguous cases and clarify annotation standards.
  • Document observations, edge cases, and suggested improvements to annotation procedures.
  • Provide feedback to help optimize annotation workflows and quality control.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail for all assigned tasks.
  • Communicate regularly with project coordinators using written and verbal channels.

Requirements

  • Required skills: data annotation, critical thinking, attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, remote work management.
  • Demonstrated experience in data annotation or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving project guidelines and varied task types.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables in a remote contractor capacity.
  • Generalist mindset, able to handle a wide range of content and annotation scenarios.
  • Prior experience with collaborative or remote professional projects is a plus.
