Job description

Akkodis is seeking a L3 Data Center Engineer for a Contract with a client in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate network infrastructure deployment activities, ensuring installations are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards., Lead and supervise daily network equipment installation and deployment activities, assigning work to technicians and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met. Coordinate with Project Managers, Network Engineers, cabling teams, and customer site representatives to support successful implementation and commissioning efforts. Perform site readiness assessments, installation quality inspections, and ensure all work complies with project specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards. Oversee the installation of enterprise network equipment, racks, cabinets, copper/fiber cabling, patch panels, wireless access points, and power distribution systems. Manage equipment staging, inventory control, asset tracking, and installation documentation, including as-built records and completion reports. Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, manage punch-list items, and support customer acceptance testing to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent training in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure deployment, field installations, or telecommunications projects, including leadership responsibilities. Proven experience with enterprise network equipment installation, rack and cabinet deployment, copper/fiber optic cabling, and wireless access point installations. Strong ability to read network drawings and construction documents, coordinate field teams and subcontractors, perform quality inspections, and manage installation documentation and asset tracking. Note: The person MUST have a NASCLA (National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies) certification or Tennessee Board for Contractors (TBLC issues CE-C (communications and Low voltage) electrical Contractors License.
