Job description

Akkodis is seeking an IT Admin Design Engineer II for a Contract with a client in Nicholasville, KY. The ideal candidate with experience managing office IT infrastructure, network operations, end-user support, and technology services to ensure reliable and secure business operations. Rate Range: $28/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. IT Admin Design Engineer II Job Responsibilities include: Administer and maintain local IT infrastructure, including server room equipment, network devices, wireless systems, and business-critical technology services. Provide end-user support for Linux, Windows, and peripheral devices, troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and system-related issues. Manage LAN/WAN environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and wireless access points to ensure reliable network performance. Oversee IT asset lifecycle management, including equipment procurement, deployment, inventory tracking, maintenance, and disposal. Support office technology systems such as badge access control, security cameras, printers, conference room equipment, and structured cabling infrastructure. Develop and maintain technical documentation, coordinate with vendors, and implement improvements to enhance the reliability, security, and efficiency of the local IT environment.

Requirements

Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Administration, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience). 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting office IT infrastructure, end-user computing, systems administration, and network operations. Strong experience administering local area networks (LANs), including Ethernet switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, wireless networking, and basic server infrastructure. Hands-on experience supporting Linux desktop environments, IT asset management, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and office technology systems in a business environment.
