Job description

Komatsu is looking for a Field Service Supervisor in Ely NV! In this role you will manage the Field Service Technicians at the Robinson site. This position supports operational needs, enhances leadership engagement, and supports the technician team to ensure safe, efficient, and quality service at our customer site. This role focuses on promoting a zero-harm safety culture, maintaining strong customer relationships, providing technical support, and overseeing project execution. In this role the Supervisor will set clear expectations, interact with customer and account manageers daily, and ensure the customers needs are met.

The supervisor will also be accountable for achieving financial targets, including revenue, margin, and expense control, while coordinating manpower and resources.

This is a great position for someone with prior management and customer-facing experience.

We are open to candidates in Ely, Salt Lake City, and the Elko region who are open to commuting to Ely and being onsite Monday through Friday to support the technicians and customer., * Team Leadership & Supervision Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management for the Field Service Team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Safety & Compliance Champion a zero-harm safety philosophy by enforcing safety standards, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with MSHA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Project & Job Management Oversee field service projects from quoting through completion. Ensure timely coordination, resource allocation, and execution of service jobs to meet customer expectations and company standards.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal leadership. Maintain clear, professional communication to support service delivery and resolve issues.

  • Workforce Planning & Coordination Build and maintain the field service team to meet budgeted headcount. Collaborate with other regions to optimize manpower utilization and respond to fluctuating service demands.

  • Service Utilization & Efficiency Monitor and drive field service utilization metrics. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance service quality.

  • Technical Support Provide expert-level technical assistance to both internal teams and external customers. Troubleshoot complex issues and guide resolution using diagnostic tools and engineering principles.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience or equivalent technical experience in heavy mining equipment.
  • Proven experience with shovels and draglines in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and field operations.
  • Certifications & Skills *

  • MSHA certification required.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, functional testing equipment, and specialty instruments.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support field operations and company objectives.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Technical Aptitude *

  • Ability to interpret and explain complex engineering concepts in practical, easy-to-understand terms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
