Job description

A Tier 1 IT Desktop Support role in a warehouse is a hands-on, on-site position. The technician serves as the frontline troubleshooter, primarily resolving or escalating IT issues to keep fulfillment, supply chain, and logistics operations running smoothly with minimal downtime., * Hardware & Device Troubleshooting: Diagnose, repair, or replace warehouse-specific hardware, including handheld barcode scanners, rugged mobile devices, forklift-mounted computers, and label or industrial printers.

  • End-User Desktop Support: Provide first-line assistance for office and warehouse computers, laptops, VoIP desk phones, and desk accessories.
  • Network & Connectivity: Troubleshoot localized Wi-Fi drops, LAN issues, and connectivity problems between handheld devices and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP networks.
  • Access & Account Management: Onboard and offboard users, reset passwords, and manage access permissions for employees using Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Ticket Management: Log, track, and resolve help desk requests using ticketing systems, ensuring prompt service and user communication.
  • Asset Management: Track and maintain physical inventory of IT hardware, ensuring spares are ready to deploy to prevent operational delays.

Requirements

  • Mobility: Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate expansive warehouse and fulfillment floors.
  • Heavy Lifting: Capable of lifting and carrying IT equipment (e.g., printers, monitors, servers) weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Environment: Comfortable working in active, fast-paced warehouse and distribution environments, which may involve noise and varying temperatures., * Education/Experience: High school diploma, equivalent, or an Associate’s degree in IT. Foundational certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Fundamentals are strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic TCP/IP networking, and hardware break-fix.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills to assist non-technical staff under the pressure of tight warehouse deadlines
