Job description
Join a team that provides remote technical support for commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS). The System Analyst serves as the primary technical resource for customers, field technicians, project engineers, and software developers, troubleshooting HVAC, lighting, networking, and controls issues while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role requires analytical problem-solving, strong communication skills, and a willingness to continuously learn new BAS platforms and technologies., * Manage multiple service requests and work orders from intake through resolution while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Provide remote troubleshooting for BAS controllers, field devices, sensors, graphics, supervisory servers, and operator workstations.
- Support HVAC, lighting, scheduling, alarming, trending, graphics, and energy management applications.
- Work directly with customers, subcontractors, and field technicians to diagnose hardware, software, networking, and integration issues.
- Collaborate with software development, engineering, project management, and estimating teams.
- Assist customer IT departments with IP networking, VPN, firewall, DNS, and connectivity issues affecting BAS systems.
- Analyze trends and system performance to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain excellent customer communication and provide timely updates throughout the service lifecycle.
- Document solutions, develop knowledge-based articles, and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and weekend shifts after successful completion of training.
Requirements
- Experience with commercial Building Automation Systems such as Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Niagara, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Alerton, Distech, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of HVAC sequences of operation, control theory, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, and mechanical plans.
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and IP networking fundamentals.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows-based servers/workstations and remote access technologies.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Controls, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent field experience in Building Automation Systems will be considered.
