Job description

This role oversees the safe control, isolation, and restoration of electrical and mechanical energy systems in a mission-critical data center environment. The Energy Marshal serves as the primary authority for energy isolation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Zero Energy Verification (ZEV) during construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operational activities. The position ensures all work follows established safety standards, site procedures, and operational requirements while supporting reliable, continuous operation of critical infrastructure., * Lead and oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Zero Energy Verification (ZEV) activities for low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, ATSs, STSs, breakers, and control systems.

  • Evaluate, approve, and execute energy isolation plans to support maintenance, testing, commissioning, and construction activities in a mission-critical data center.
  • Trace power paths through redundant electrical distribution systems to verify system readiness and minimize operational risk.
  • Use EPMS and SCADA systems to monitor critical infrastructure, validate system conditions, and support safe execution of work.
  • Support commissioning, startup, testing, and validation activities for electrical and MEP systems in alignment with NETA and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Review and execute work packages, including SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, and MSOWs, while maintaining strict compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead safety discussions to identify hazards, mitigate risk, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses to drive continuous improvement in safety and operational practices.
  • Train and mentor technicians on energy isolation procedures, operational safety requirements, and critical environment best practices.
  • Collaborate with construction supervision and management teams to ensure safe and on-time project delivery.
  • Apply strong computer skills, including the use of Bluebeam and P6 (when applicable), to review plans, schedules, and documentation.
  • Ensure that all activities support safe, reliable, and compliant operation of mission-critical facilities and electrical infrastructure., This position is based in a mission-critical data center environment in Wenatchee. The typical schedule is approximately 40 hours per week, with 10-hour workdays, supporting construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities. The role involves frequent work around low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, MEP infrastructure, and critical facility equipment, requiring strict adherence to safety procedures and energy isolation protocols. You will use monitoring and control technologies such as EPMS and SCADA systems, and may also use Bluebeam and P6 depending on project needs. The work environment requires the use of specific personal protective equipment, including a monitor, keyboard, headset, and mouse for administrative and monitoring tasks, as well as a Class 2 safety helmet, Class 2 or higher safety vest, cut and impact resistant gloves, ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor, and composite toe work boots made of leather or leather

  • Strong understanding of power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, protection devices, and critical infrastructure operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), energy isolation, and electrical safety practices.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements related to electrical safety and energy isolation.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of NETA standards and their application to testing and commissioning activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and process compliance in high-risk environments.
  • Experience with MEP construction and commissioning activities.
  • Ability to interpret and execute SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, and MSOWs accurately.
  • Strong electrical background with the ability to trace power paths through redundant electrical distribution systems.
  • Proficiency with EPMS and SCADA systems to monitor and validate critical infrastructure conditions.
  • Effective communication skills to lead safety discussions, provide training, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong computer skills to work with documentation, digital tools, and relevant software platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction supervision or construction management within mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam for reviewing and marking up drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 (P6) scheduling software, when applicable.
  • Proven ability to support safe and on-time project delivery in high-risk environments.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses to improve safety and operational processes.
  • Experience training and mentoring technicians or junior staff on safety and operational best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly technical environment with complex electrical and mechanical systems., alternative that extend at least 4 inches above the ankle (no low-cut or sneaker-style footwear). A Class 2 or higher reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather is also required. The environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with a strong focus on maintaining continuous operation of critical systems while delivering projects safely and on schedule. The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
