Job description

Build and maintain full stack web applications that contribute real-world input to train and evaluate next generation AI systems. You will apply your engineering expertise to shape how models learn, reason, and perform by delivering high-quality backend and frontend features, improving performance and reliability, and collaborating with a distributed team. No prior AI experience is required, domain knowledge and software engineering skill are what matter. micro1 is an AI data lab that transforms subject matter expertise across finance, healthcare, STEM engineering and other domains into training data, evaluations, and feedback loops that improve AI systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust web applications using NodeJS, Typescript, Python, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Contribute to both backend and frontend feature development to ensure high-quality user experiences.
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate services across the stack.
  • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, and provide mentorship to peers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to define and deliver technical solutions and communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally., * You will work as an independent contractor, collaborating with a distributed team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience as a full stack developer working with NodeJS, Typescript, Python, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Required skills and technologies include, but are not limited to: Typescript, NodeJS / Node.js, Python, Java, JavaScript, React, PHP, C++, .NET, Nest.js, and C#.
  • Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed remote team.
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with microservices architectures and containerization technologies.
  • Previous experience collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.

Benefits & conditions

  • Pay range: $30.00 to $90.00 per hour.

Eligibility

  • This role is offered as a contractor engagement. Candidates must be able to accept work as an independent contractor in their country of residence.
