Job description

We’re seeking a Senior MERN Stack Developer Consultant (13+ years of experience) with expertise in Azure Cloud to join our team. Below are the key skills and expectations for this position

Requirements

Strong proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Next.js, and Node.js
Experience working on full-stack web applications
Ability to collaborate with our internal development team and follow best practices
Availability to start at the earliest possible date
Mapping & Geospatial Technologies (Desired):
Proficiency in Mapbox, Leaflet.js, or OpenLayers
Familiarity with the GeoJSON format for managing geographic data
Capability to overlay multiple layers, including nautical charts, POIs, AIS, and geo-fences
Expertise in real-time vessel tracking on maps
Automatic Identification System (AIS) Data & Geo-fencing (Desired):
Experience integrating AIS data
Skills in implementing geo-fencing logic

Microsoft Azure perspective (Required): The candidate must possess a solid understanding of cloud computing principles and hands-on experience working with Azure services to design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure applications. They should be capable of building and deploying containerized MERN applications, integrating with Azure services, and collaborating effectively with Cloud and DevOps teams for production operations. Key Competencies Required:

Strong understanding of Cloud Computing principles and models - IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining web applications in a cloud environment
Ability to design, develop, and support containerized MERN applications using modern cloud deployment practices
Good understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security (e.g., JWT, OAuth2).
Knowledge of Azure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for automated build and deployment
Ability to collaborate effectively with Cloud and DevOps teams for production operations
Experience with Microsoft Azure is highly preferred
