SAP FICO Analyst

The Senior SAP FICO Analyst is a hands-on functional expert responsible for the design, configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) solutions. This role serves as a senior-level liaison between Finance stakeholders and technical teams, with direct responsibility for resolving complex FI posting issues, defining functional requirements, and collaborating closely with ABAP developers to deliver high-quality SAP solutions., Senior Functional Ownership - SAP FICOServe as a senior functional SME for SAP FI and CO, including:General Ledger (GL)Accounts Payable (AP)Accounts Receivable (AR)Asset Accounting (AA)Cost Centers, Internal Orders, and CO PAAct as the escalation point for complex FICO issues impacting Finance operations.

FI Posting Troubleshooting (Critical Requirement)Independently troubleshoot and resolve FI posting issues, including:Document posting failuresAccount determination errorsIntercompany imbalancesClearing and reconciliation issuesAnalyze FI documents, configuration settings, and integration flows to determine root cause and corrective action.Partner with Finance to explain issues and recommend system or process improvements.

SAP Configuration (Required)Perform and maintain SAP ECC configuration, including but not limited to:Company codes, fiscal year variants, posting periodsGL accounts, document types, posting keys, tolerance groupsAP/AR configuration, payment terms, payment programs, and dunningCost elements, cost centers, internal orders, and allocation cyclesEnsure configuration aligns with accounting standards, audit requirements, and business processes.

Functional Design & ABAP CollaborationDraft and own Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for:EnhancementsInterfacesCustom developmentsProcess improvementsTranslate business requirements into clear functional designs consumable by technical teams.Work closely with ABAP developers to:Review solutions and assumptionsClarify functional logicSupport development, testing, and defect resolutionParticipate in design reviews to ensure solutions are functional, scalable, and supportable.

Integrations & Cross-Module SupportSupport and troubleshoot integrations impacting FI/CO, including:SD-FIMM-FIExternal systems and interfacesAssist with intercompany processes, close activities, and reconciliations.

Project & Change DeliveryLead or contribute to SAP initiatives including:Enhancements and regulatory changesProcess optimizationSystem upgrades or transformationsSupport UAT, deployment, and post-go-live activities.

Priorities- Experience working on ABAP codes- FSD Experience- Experience with other SAP modules like MM/Business side- Experience with Bank Transfers / Treasury / Accounting- Cost to Cash- SME on configuration / Integration / Migration, Strong SAP ECC experience with deep configuration knowledge is required. S/4HANA experience is a plus and may include support, implementation, or migration exposure., S/4HANA Exposure (Plus)Participate in S/4HANA-related activities, such as:Readiness assessmentsProcess simplificationMigration supportTesting and stabilization

Required Qualifications7-10+ years of SAP FICO experienceStrong hands-on experience with SAP ECCProven SAP configuration experience (required)Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot FI postings end-to-endExperience drafting Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)Experience partnering with ABAP developers on custom solutionsStrong accounting and controlling process knowledgeAbility to work independently and lead work across multiple priorities

Preferred QualificationsSAP S/4HANA experience (support, implementation, or migration)Experience in large, complex enterprise SAP environmentsExposure to intercompany accounting and complex close cyclesPrior project or transformation experience
